Join other artists at the “Matthews Alive Art Show” Labor Day weekend for a three-day show and selling event. This is your chance to sell and show your work AND participate in a Judged Show for ribbons, cash prizes and gift certificates. The AWARDS will be as follows:
1st Place (Best of Show) - $400 Cash & Ribbon
2nd Place - $200 Cash & Ribbon
3rd Place -$100 Cash & Ribbon
Drawing Excellence Award - $50 Gift Certificate & Ribbon
4 Honorable Mention Awards $30 Gift Certificate & Ribbon
4 Achievement Awards $20 Gift Certificate & Ribbon
MAG Award -TBA
A total of 13 Awards!
This is a great show and is well attended. Matthews Alive Festival attracts over 120,000 people during its 4-day weekend. Last year over 8,000 people saw the work of Matthews/ Charlotte artists.
Please, let us know as soon as possible if you plan to participate, so we can reserve your spot at the art show. There is a limited number of works that we can hang and the sooner you let us know, the better chance you will have of getting your artwork in. This is not a juried show and all those who enter paintings will be hung.
The show will be judged by a local artist TBA. We look forward to seeing your art displayed with us!

The Charlotte Artists society is a non-profit organization and is unaffiliated with any other art group in this city. The purpose of this organization is to further and encourage the aims and endeavors of all artists, individually and collectively. It is open to any person interested in fine arts over the age of 18.
Programs are held on the third Thursday of the month August through May. Featured presenters give exciting demonstrations in various art mediums
The Charlotte Artists Society sponsers several opportunities for artists to exhibit their work in both juried and non-juried shows throughout the year.
As a member you will receive a monthly newsletter providing you with the latest information regarding the guest presenter for the monthly meeting, exhibitionopportunities, member news, workshops and much more.

Jim Antley is our speaker.
Jim is a photographer and a teacher of taking digital photos and editing them with photoshop. Unfortunately, he can't get all that in an hour or so presentation. My intention is to ask him to discuss digital images and if there is time, taking photos of your artwork.
